*Work Location is at 1224 Poinsett Hwy. Greenville, SC 29609*
Standard Hours are 7am - 3:30pm plus overtime and scheduled weekends
The Handwork Associate - 1st Shift is responsible for folding and inserting complex mailing materials into envelopes, sealing envelopes, affixing postage, and sorting mail by hand and with equipment according to USPS requirements. This is a very detailed production role.
Essential Functions:
- Handle complex mail pieces at a consistent pace.
- Read and understand the work ticket to ensure that the correct components are being used and the job is being inserted correctly.
- Be able to perform folding, inserting, sealing, sorting, metering, stamping, and paperwork.
- Operates meter as necessary.
- Operates inserting equipment as necessary.
- Understand USPS regulations in order to be able to work independently.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Effectively use the quality control procedures while handling mail pieces, along with monitoring quality of the final mail pieces.
- Recognizes issues related to production.
- Prevent any pieces from being double-stuffed.
- Properly record damaged documents or mail pieces and request reprints as needed.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Respond to complex work situations.
- Excellent Attendance
- Detail and customer oriented.
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of USPS regulations preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Not responsible for supervising other employees.
Work Environment: Indoor, temperature controlled, production facility.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to be able to stand on feet for at least 8 hours/day.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): Certain PPE may be required while performing specific job functions.
