Hours: 7am - 3:30pm, with expected additional hours including weekends and evenings
What we are looking for:
The Large Format Manager Pre-Press Digital Print oversees end-to-end wide-format production and directly directs prepress department operations. This structural role includes managing daily production scheduling, supervising press technicians, performing exact color calibrations, and maintaining digital front-end RIP software and hardware systems. Beyond daily operational oversight, this leader is highly involved with driving technology innovation—actively researching, identifying, and implementing cutting-edge workflow automation, modern hardware upgrades, and industry best practices. The ideal candidate seamlessly blends technical mastery of large-format hardware and prepress workflows with strong team leadership and a forward-thinking mindset.
What you will be doing:
- Provide hands-on leadership and direct supervision of the Printing Department, including daily scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation
- Oversee all production activities across Prepress, and Large Format operations
- Collaborate with production teams to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve efficiency and throughput
- Establish, enforce, and continuously improve quality control standards to ensure accuracy, consistency, and customer satisfaction
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and that preventive maintenance schedules are followed
- Promote and enforce workplace safety policies and ensure compliance with all safety procedures
- Lead, coach, and develop production team members through training, feedback, and performance management
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and improvement-driven work environment
- Partner with HR on performance reviews, disciplinary actions, compliance matters, and employee development
- Coordinate production reporting, data collection, physical inventory, and documentation
- Uphold strong internal and external customer service standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support business needs
Who you are:
- Minimum of 4 years of print production management experience
- Extensive hands-on knowledge of Offset Printing, Digital Printing, and Large Format Printing
- Strong understanding of production workflows, scheduling, and process optimization
- Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to balance operational demands with people leadership and quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to multi-task.
- Extensive knowledge of and detailed computer program skills related to all large format pre-press and press activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Will directly oversee the Press and Pre-press operators.
Work Environment: Position operates in a regulated manufacturing print/mail production facility
Physical Demands:
- Stand and walk for up to 12 hours, with frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Perform repetitive motions in a fast-paced production environment
Security Clearance: Amsive is a Federal Contractor, and this position may require government security clearance for certain projects.
