Work Location is at 605 Territorial Dr. Bolingbrook, IL 60440*  
*This is a 12 hour Night Shift working 6pm - 6am with rotating weekends*

 

Summary/Objective: 
The Inserter Operator is responsible for ensuring the proper operation of the inserter machine, monitoring production schedules, and maintaining quality standards while preparing mail or promotional materials for distribution. The operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and performing basic maintenance on inserter machines. They will also ensure that safety and production standards are met.

Essential Functions:  

 

  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate inserter machines to insert documents, pamphlets, or other materials into envelopes or packages.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of output, ensuring that each item is correctly inserted and sealed. Perform quality checks to identify and correct issues such as misfeeds or incorrect insertions.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on inserter machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts. Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Production Monitoring: Track production quotas and ensure that deadlines are met while maintaining high levels of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating machinery, and ensure that work areas are clean and organized.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of machine performance, production output, and any maintenance or repair activities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, maintenance teams, and other operators to meet production goals and resolve any issues that arise during production.   

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience as an inserter operator, machine operator, or similar position in a manufacturing or mailroom setting is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with inserter machines and basic mechanical troubleshooting skills. Ability to perform routine maintenance and operate machinery efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure quality control by identifying issues such as misfeeds, misplacements, or damaged materials.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift packages, and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities to quickly address any machine malfunctions or production issues.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with other operators, supervisors, and maintenance staff.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional technical certifications or training in machine operation or maintenance is a plus.


Supervisory Responsibilities: Not responsible for supervising other employees. 

  
Work Environment: Indoor, temperature controlled, production facility. 


Physical Demands:  

  • Must be able to be able to stand on feet for at least 8 hours/day 

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds 

  • Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): Certain PPE may be required while performing specific job functions. 


Security Clearance:  Amsive is a Federal Contractor, and this position may require government security clearance for certain projects.
